Representatives of Ukrainian software developers involved in the Initiative announced that they united their efforts to promote Ukrainian hi-tech solutions on the Western markets. The presentation was of interest first of all to Western companies, which placed orders for offshore software development. Ukraine, as a country, is only coming into the Western market, since the Western customer does not distinguish between Ukrainian, Russian or Byelorussian programmers from the CIS referring to them all as “Russian”.

Export software development (the so-called offshore software development) accounts for a considerable turnover share in this segment of the market of information and communication services, with 80-90% of Ukrainian software developments being not identified by Western customers as such that are produced in Ukraine. The Initiative sets the task for itself to restore the image of Ukraine as a software manufacturing country.
